Abstract

Purpose
The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences in aromatherapy. Method: The data were collected from 7 women received aromatherapy by interview and observation from July 2006 to 30 September 2006. Van Manen(1990)'s hermeneutic phenominological methodology was applied in analyzing data. Result: 5 essential themes were derived as followings: 'Hesitating', 'Giving it a try' 'Weighing the effects', 'Being fascinated', 'Losing interest'. Conclusion: The results of the study especially the 5 essential themes will promote in understanding of experiences of clients of aromatheray. Also they will facilitate to develope nursing intervention and nursing practice related to aromatherapy.
