Contents

1. Website

i. The URL of official journal web site is http://www.jkasne.org.

ii. Aims and Scope
The Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education (JKASNE) publishes peer-reviewed original research articles devoted to report research that contributes to excellence in practice, research, and administration of nursing education. Also it contributes to building the knowledge base of the discipline of nursing including theory, practice, and education that provides a better understanding of human responses to illness and the promotion of health. The original research on nursing education and intervention using appropriate research methods can be published. Comprehensive review, concept analysis, and methodological papers are also welcome.

iii. Readership
This journal is primarily published for nursing educators. They will be able to obtain tailored information to adopt for their schools or classes. Its readership can be expanded to other positions:
• Researchers can get the cases of adoption of educational and nursing theories;
• Nurses in the field can get the methods of training their junior nurses or nursing students;
• Administrators of the educational institutes can access and adopt a variety of data in nursing education;
• Nursing students can understand the recent educational trends and tools so that they are able to adapt to the new educational environment and recent educational methods more easily;
• Policy makers may be able to reflect the results of the articles to the nursing and public health policies;
• The public will be able to read the advancement in the evaluation study of undergraduates, graduates, and continuing education so that they have a confidence in the training courses of future nursing personnel.

iv. Authorship criteria
Authorship credit should be based on 1)substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, and/or analysis and interpretation of data; 2)drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; 3)final approval of the version to be published; and 4)agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved. Every author should meet all of these four conditions. After the initial submission of a manuscript, any changes whatsoever in authorship (adding author(s), deleting author(s), or re-arranging the order of authors) must be explained by a letter to the editor from the authors concerned. This letter must be signed by all authors of the paper. Copyright assignment must also be completed by every author.

Corresponding author and first author: The JKASNE does not allow multiple corresponding authors for one article. Only one author should correspond with the editorial office and readers for one article. The JKASNE does accept notice of equal contribution for the first author when the study was clearly performed by co-first authors.

Correction of authorship after publication: The JKASNE does not correct authorship after publication unless a mistake has been made by the editorial staff. Authorship may be changed before publication but after submission when an authorship correction is requested by all of the authors involved with the manuscript.

v. Duplicate submission and redundant publication
Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. No part of the accepted manuscript should be duplicated in any other journals. Upon notice of a duplicate submission, submission privileges to the JKASNE will be suspended for 2 years.

1) The manuscript has never been published in an academic journal in other languages, electronically or otherwise.
2) The author can have his/her manuscripts which have been carried in this academic journal to be duplicated in other languages, only after the editing (or, publishing) committee chiefs of both academic journals approve it.
3) Whether or not a duplicated thesis is carried shall be decided by the editing committee, which is to review the contents of manuscripts.

vi. pISSN: 1225-9578, eISSN: 2093-7814

2. Name of Journal

The official journal title is the Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education. The abbreviated title is J Korean Acad Soc Nurs Educ.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review Process

The JKASNE has a double-blind peer-review system to improve the quality of manuscripts.(http://acoms.kisti.re.kr/journal/intro.do?page=logo&journalSeq=J000088).

A manuscript is first reviewed for its format and adherence to the aims and scope of the journal. If the manuscript meets these two criteria, it is dispatched to three investigators in the field with relevant knowledge. Before reviewing, all submitted manuscripts are inspected by Similarity Check powered by iThenticate (https://www.crossref.org/services/similarity-check/), a plagiarism-screening tool.
Assuming the manuscript is sent to reviewers, the JKASNE waits to receive opinions from all reviewers. The authors’ names and affiliations are removed during peer review (double-blind peer review). The editor-in-chief of the JKASNE makes the final decision regarding each manuscript’s publication based on the reviewers’ critiques and recommendations, as well as the scientific merits of the manuscript. The acceptance criteria for all papers are based on the quality and originality of the research and its scientific significance. Acceptance of the manuscript is decided based on the critiques and recommended decision of the reviewers. An initial decision is normally made within 2 weeks of receipt of a manuscript, and the reviewers’ comments are sent to the corresponding author by e-mail. The corresponding author must indicate the alterations that have been made in response to the reviewers’ comments item by item. Failure to resubmit the revised manuscript within 2 weeks of the editorial decision is regarded as withdrawal. If a further revision period is required, the author should contact the editorial office.

A final decision on acceptance/rejection for publication is forwarded to the corresponding author from the editor. All manuscripts from editors, employees, or members of the editorial board are processed same to other unsolicited manuscripts. During the review process, submitters do not engage in the decision process. Editors do not handle their own manuscripts although they are commissioned ones. We neither guarantee the acceptance without review nor very short peer review times for unsolicited manuscripts. Commissioned manuscripts also reviewed before publication.
